An agile shot-stopper, very brave in challenging strikers in crosses or one to one situation. The centre of controversy when he suddenly left Penang for Perak before the start of the 1998 season.He was the first choice then and for hte most of the 1999 season. During his first year in the team he was rated by many as one of the best goalkeeper Perak ever had in recent years. He was very consistent then and though sore Penang showed that they can win the league title without him, he quickly made Penang ate their words when he was the instrumental in Perak's fairy tale run right through the final of the 1998 Malaysia Cup and he was also named as the keeper in that sensational cup final night where he helped overcame Terengganu's onslaught to help Perak win the Malaysia Cup.A drop of form has made him lost his place to international V. Murugan early last year but when he was given the chance again late last season, he showed a glimpse of his oldself and kept international keeper V. Murugan out of the team for the rest of the season. A tough season awaits him with the emergence of young Rafaee Othman who kept goal during his suspension last year and new signing Tay Sin Kiat.
